The following steps illustrate how easy our system is to use.
-
Check to
make sure the handlebar switch matches the wheels
•
Wheels up -
switch up,
•
Wheels down - switch down,
•
Normal usage is wheels down.
-
Start your bike
-
Pull away
in trike mode. When you have enough momentum to balance
properly, toggle switch up and enjoy two-wheel handling.
-
When
slowing down, toggle switch down and feel secure.
-
Repeat
previous two steps as needed.
-
At the end
of your riding, put the wheels down and shut off bike.
-
Forget
about the kickstand.

Safety
Features, Inc. manufactures Retract-A-Trike for Honda Gold Wing 1500
and 1800
based on the concept of landing gear used for aircraft.
-
Flip the switch
up - the wheels rise to provide a two-wheel ride.
-
Flip the switch
down - the wheels lower to provide the stability of a trike.
-
Activation of the
system is not possible above approximately 18 mph to avoid
accidental trike mode.
Nobody wants to
take a trike fast into the corners!
-
The system weighs
about 85 lbs to your bike and is 51" wide for the 1500 and 56" for
the 1800.
-
Uses existing
connection points.
-
No frame
modifications.
-
Cosmetic changes
only (sidecover, heat shield and a few holes for hoses and wiring)
-
Wheels line up
with rear axle to avoid the problems the bolt-on trike kits have.
- There is a
visible and audible warning if the switch gets toggled
inadvertently.
Give us a call and
we’ll get you back on the road.
